My confidence has gone through the roof My clothing style has evolved I don't obsess about food anymore I enjoy exercise I'm looking forward to the next 6 months! If I keep this up I could probably get close to my goal weight by the end of this year So excited!! Here is a snapshot of the past 6 months... July 2010 126.6kg December 2010 around 98kg

Why Protein?

I'm still a bit confused about why we need so much protein I've basically taken it for granted and just try to take as much as possible But I don't really understand it's importance This morning I made an awesome protein shake 1 Cup lite milk 1 tbs peanut butter 2 tbs protein powder Didn't realise it turned out to be a whopping 353 calories (34.8gms protein) Is this too much? I'm so confused!

ooo an award!

Hello lovely ladies Sorry I'm a bit late at getting to this! First of all thankyou to three dolls who nominated me for the Stylish Blogger Award Thanks V @ The Babbling Bandit , Sam @ Banded for me & Kellie @ Something about Kellie "The rules of accepting this award are: Thank the person who gave you the award, reveal seven things about yourself, and nominate 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered or love. Then leave a comment on their blog letting them know they've been nominated.." Seven Things About Me: 1. I've never been in a relationship...really, really sucks! I'm hoping that with my new found confidence I'll be able to bag a nice Englishman on my European travels! 2. I used to be able to speak Japanese...I was actually at the top of my class at school. However since then I have had no reason to practice and barely remember any of it! 3. I'm addicted to TV. Seriously, I can sit there and watch TV shows 24/7...now I try and fit it into ...

Finally starting to enjoy exercise

After 22 years, I've finally started to look forward to exercising! This is a big thing for me I HATED any sort of physical activity I was the type of girl who would fake having my period every week to get out of gym class at school For my birthday, I asked my parents for two things... 1. The biggest loser wii game 2. A bodybugg or a similar kind of gadget See a pattern? Both are exercise related! I've been watching reruns of the biggest loser everyday and seeing those contestants get pushed to their limits has finally made me realise that just because I'm fat doesn't mean I'm going to have a heart attack and die from exercising! The biggest loser game is AH-MAZZZZIINGGGG! Seriously, I can't rave about it enough My body hates me right now and is hurting in places that I didn't even know existed =P I actually look forward to my workouts and it makes me sweat like crazy I just bought the bodymediafit armband and I'm so excited to start using it My only tas...

5 day pouch test

Well Day 2 of optifast was great In the past 2 days I've lost 1.4kg (3.08lbs) which I'm happy with At least it gave me the kick start I needed I am no longer craving junk food or snacks My current weight is 96kg That means this week I will need to lose 1kg to get to my birthday goal of 95kg Seems a lot more possible now I've been reading a lot about this 5 day pouch test Over xmas time I've been having problems with a lot of foods getting stuck and my initial reaction would be to go and vomit the food up But after reading about the 5DPT, I've realised that the uncomfortable feeling in your chest just means you're full? I still don't know for sure, but whenever I think I am stuck it's not as painful as everyone makes it out to be To me, being stuck is just feeling a bit tight and uncomfortable in my sternum area I wasn't planning on doing the pouch test but I'd already done 2 days optifast so why not give it a shot Day 3 is soft proteins: eggs, tu...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I've just passed the 30kg mark So far (since my heaviest of 126.6kg) I have lost a whopping 30.2kg (66.44lbs) What an awesome feeling! Current weight is 96.4kg (212lbs) My next major goal is to be under 200lbs I can't believe it has been 160 days/23 weeks/5.75 months since surgery! Nearly hitting my 6 mnth bandiversary! It has gone so quick Day one on optifast went well Everything was perfect except I snuck in a few cheeky jellybeans Day two is about to commence, and I know that I will reach 95kg by my bday :)

Mission Birthday

Date: 31st January Countdown: 12 days, 1.7weeks Goal: to be 95kg Amount to lose: 2.3kg I HAVE to do this to prove to myself that with hard work and determination I can beat this lap band and I can get out of this rut I'm in I've convinced my dad to do optifast with me for a few days Mainly because I want to get rid of it lol But also because if I have someone do it with me then I'm more likely to stick to it! Gross I hated this taste :P

I was heavier than that?!

Image
Wow I was reading through old journals from the past year and to my horror I recorded a almighty weight of 126.6kg in June of 2010 I thought I was a kilogram lighter than that I know it's only a kilo, but any number higher than what I currently am is way way way too heavy for me! Can you imagine a 21 year old, 5" tall girl weighing 126.6kg (278.5lbs)!! That is HUGE I can look back at pictures and think woah I was huge but I don't actually remember feeling or looking that big Therefore, I am going to change my stats to reflect my highest ever weight It's only a kilogram heavier than my pre optifast weight, but seeing that number might give me the motivation I need I finally measured myself again last night Although progress has slowed down, it's amazing to see in numbers how many cm's I've lost Mum wanted to see some of my before photos I have never showed her any of the horrible ones I put up on here Usually whenever I find a photo of myself I would remove ...

Confessions of a junk food addict...and NSV!

Image
I have been eating horribly these past few weeks To the point where my body is rebelling and I am constant feeling sick in the stomach Everytime my parents go away I pig out Thank God they are only gone for a week But I should be stronger than this...I should know by now that I can't stuff my face anymore I'm still losing slowly but I really need to rethink my goals and my diet Big NSV though! Okay so I think I've said this many times before but I am obsessed with a local band called Stealing O'neal They're music is amazing, they're good to look at and they are all round nice boys I have seen them seriously about 50 times or more over the past four years and I have never once been able to buy a tee shirt because they only stock small sizes In October I decided to buy one...a few sizes too small I tried it on yesterday and it finally fit! and I didn't have to squeeze into it either, it was so comfortable! Here's a picture... It is a very plain t-shirt, bu...

Pray for Queensland

Just a note to ask for all of you to think about all those people caught up in the devastating Queensland floods My parents are travelling up to Cairns (northern Queensland) and it's a bit scary, although the floods are occurring in Southern Queensland Such a horrible disaster =(

Goodbye to elephant butt!

Image
Okay let me explain, My work pants have become a little loose... to the point where my butt looks like it sags to my knees! People at work began laughing at me for being too stubborn to buy a new pair but I seriously need to save money so that was always my excuse Well today I got so sick of it that I decided to buy a new pair I bought them a little tight, because I'm hoping that soon enough they will begin to loosen :) Old Pants... New pants...

2010 changed my life

Image
Just look at this horrid photo of me from January 2010 It was a family photo and I fought hard not to be in it I feel sorry for this girl You could see the pain in her eyes I never want to meet her again

January 5th...

is the day that I will get back on track I think I celebrated a bit too much this holiday season Although I didn't pig out as much as previous years, I still feel groggy, bloated and sluggish Tomorrow I'm going to have my optifasts, salad and vegies and see how I go It's been way too easy for me to fall back to my old habits As much as I tell myself that I don't need that extra square of chocolate I still end up bloody eating it! Wish me luck, that optifast is going to suck!

Big Weekend Photo Post!

Happy New Year everyone! This year is truly going to be an amazing one I feel happier, healthier and more confident and I'm off to Europe in 4 months, what more could a girl want?! I live in Melbourne, Australia and New Years Eve was a scorcher, 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit!) My sister and I had booked a hotel smack bang in the middle of the city It was the perfect location to walk down to the main festivities and fireworks Instead of just sitting around and waiting, we went to the Crown Casino to just chill out and have a few drinks The Casino is amazing! If you are ever in Melbourne you HAVE to visit the Crown, it has such an awesome vibe to it We went to a place called The Pub, had a few drinks and a bit of a dance Then we went down to watch the fireworks along the river...they really weren't that spectacular, but it was nice to be in amongst the excited crowd Because New Years Day fell on a weekend, the Public holiday was set for the Monday (today) so last night there...
