Like Grace said, try holding a pillow over it. It's called bracing, and it's to help keep the stitching intact. They really should have educated you about it :S they're meant to when you have surgery.
ohhh no they didn't tell me anything about that! I try holding it but I have now come down with a cold and it sucks! I'll try that though! Thanks guys!
I'm not sure if they're meant to with banding (I'm not really sure how they do it) but as a Nursing student they teach us to educate our patients about it when they have surgery.

I was lap-banded on August 13 2010 and it is the best decision I've ever made.

Yes and it was terrible! Try holding a pillow to your tummy...it helps, but not much sadly.
