Yummy Yummy Veggies

Oh wow I'm loving my veggies right now
I never thought I would ever crave cauliflower or broccoli!

Today I invented a new recipe and it was delicious

Broccoli and Cauliflower mash
- boil some water and add a chicken stock cube and a teaspoon of garlic mince
- add chopped up cauliflower and broccoli and boil until soft
- drain water
- add a teaspoon of dijon mustard, olive oil and pepper
- MASH!

It's pretty basic but it was so good!
The closest I could get to potato mash :P

I did however cheat a little today which I'm kicking myself for
I had two very thin slices of shaved lite turkey breast and about 6 peanuts
I doubt it will affect me too much but it's come to the point in pre-op where I just need to eat some "real" food!

How did everyone go on their pre-op?
How often did you cheat?

You didn't have a pre-op diet?!
Dammit why didn't I go to your surgeon!!
Did you have problems with your liver?

Hi Alyce,
you are doing great on your pre-op. I've cheated everyday except for the first, and hopefully the last tomorrow. I had fish tonight for dinner and a piece of sushi for lunch with my protein bar. I also just can't drink black coffee so I've been having just a dash of milk in them.
Your mash sounds wonderful, will have to try that one out when I'm on my mushies.

argh i'm not even craving junk food!
I just want a piece of cheese or a small chunk of meat!
Good luck with your op!
Hopefully everything will go smoothly :)

I didn't ever "cheat" I had minestrone soup when we went out to Olive Garden for valentine's day, but the doctor said I could have minestrone if I was hungry on my preop diet, so it wasn't really cheating, it was the only time I had to resort to having it, though.

I told myself when I started perop and postop that I was going to be miserable but that was ok, I would just have to deal with it, so I didn't cheat at all! Don't cheat on postop or you can cause damage while your band is healing. So if you are going to cheat, get it all out of the way before the surgery! ;)

That's a good point janelle!
But I don't plan on cheating anymore, I like seeing the weight keep coming off and I don't want to sabotage that :P
I figure the more I lose before the surgery then the less I need to lose post-op!
