Sorry, but I have so many questions!
First of all, I apologise for posting so often
I promise that once I get back to Uni I'll slow down!
Okay, so I should mention that I have come down with a horrible flu and am pretty sick. I went to the doctors today because I was scared of an ear infection. He said my right ear is a bit red and prescribed me some antibiotics just in case it gets any worse. I really don't want to take antibiotics so I'm just taking it easy inside...hence why I am ALWAYS online!
So back to the point of this post
I'm really frustrated with liquids!
I feel like I'm so ready for mushies...but I promise I won't cheat!
It brought me to thinking about how much calories I should be eating in order to lose weight
Right now I know I'm not getting nearly as many calories as I should.
I have an app on iphone that says that if I wanted to lose a kilo a week I should consume 1500 calories
Questions:
1. How many calories do you consume? Do you even track calorie intake?
2. When does the bloating go down? I feel fatter than I was before I had surgery!
3. Will the disgusting belches ever stop? I don't feel gas pain anymore but I keep burping!
4. How should you brace yourself when a sneeze comes on? I sneezed today and I was in agony!
5. When did it all start to feel comfortable again? I constantly feel like I have a stomach strain and it just annoys me!
Answers would be wonderful,
Please and Thankyou!

Since I'm newly banded, I can't answer the questions, but I do hope you get better.
1. How many calories do you consume? Do you even track calorie intake?
I eat ~1200 calories a day. I try to track it with Dailyplate.com
2. When does the bloating go down? I feel fatter than I was before I had surgery!
I think it took a few weeks.
3. Will the disgusting belches ever stop? I don't feel gas pain anymore but I keep burping!
I still have little burps over 4 months out.
4. How should you brace yourself when a sneeze comes on? I sneezed today and I was in agony!
Hold a pillow really tight to your tummy. It will help, but there may still be discomfort.
5. When did it all start to feel comfortable again? I constantly feel like I have a stomach strain and it just annoys me!
I'd say close to 2 weeks for me.
Hope this helps!! :)
Eat a little mushie...you will feel better!
Grace that was a great help! Especially knowing that I'm already just about one week post op so if the bloating really goes down in a few weeks then I am close!
Nella I would love to eat mushies...I know I won't have a problem. But I told myself at the start that I was going to do this right so that means following Drs orders!
And Pamela Congrats on everything! I read you are already on mushies...I'm jealous!
I'd agree with Grace, about 2 weeks until you're feeling close to normal, but it will get better every day. :)
I eat somewhere between 800-1100 calories per day. I don't typically track, unless I notice my progress slowing or feel that I'm not getting in enough protein. You'll get a feel after a while for what your intake is, and won't need to track forever. But it may take a while to get to that point. The band will help with that eventually, simply because your portions will be limited by it. Yay!
The bloating, burping, pain when sneezing/laughing/coughing will all decrease over time. Within a few weeks, this post-op period will be a fuzzy dream. ;)
Good for you on keeping to Dr's orders. Being compliant (even when you don't want to be) is a huge step in the right direction!!
Hang in there!!
